4.5 PC communication mode
The PC communication mode disables any other instrument operating mode.
The factory instrument settings are as follow:

The instrument communicates with a PC under WINDOWS
OS by IR-link using the IrDA®
adapter (with USB interface or an internal one) and the special "
PM2012M Data Processing
Software
" or
“PM2012MB Data Processing Software”
(on memory drive included with the
unit) installed on PC.
Minimum system requirements:
•
IBM PC (Pentium III or higher);
•
1 G

•
operating systems: Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10.
To use the PC communication mode:
•
install "
PM2012M Data Processing Software
", refer to the "readme. pdf" file on
memory drive;
•
connect and adjust IR-adapter
IrDA®
(with USB interface or an internal one);
•
start "
PM2012M Data Processing Software
" from the main
Windows
menu, refer to the
"PM2012_Software Guide" file, installed on PC together with software;
•
switch the CWA module off by matching the
Ο
mark on the rotating head and
•
the
∆
mark on the unit (Figure 3.4); the unit displays "CHEM: OFF";
•
switch the instrument into the PC communication mode by pressing the MODE button
(refer to Figure 4.1);
•
press the SET button to enable IR-communication;

hold the instrument so that the window of IR transmitter/receiver is at a distance of 10-
20 cm from the IR-adapter;
•
if communication is established, an IR-link
mark is displayed on PC.
