DRIVE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
1. Assemble the rollers, bushings and roller pins if they
were removed.
2. Install the clutch weight

3. Install the head of the weight pin
w
so that it is on the
leading side of rotation. This will orientate the nut
e
on the trailing side of rotation.
4. Torque the weight pin to specification.
TORQUE
Weight Pin Nut:
25 in-lbs (3 N·m)
5. Place the moveable sheave
r
onto the stationary
sheave.
6. Place the same number of spacers
t
onto the shaft
of the stationary sheave.
IMPORTANT
Spacers must be kept in alignment and on center with
the shaft as the spider is being torqued or the clutch will
be out of balance.
7. Thread the spider
y
onto the stationary sheave shaft.
8. Index the spider. See Spider Indexing page 7.23.
9. Apply Loctite® 243™ to shaft threads. Do not get
Loctite® on moveable bushing. Using the spider tool
torque to specification.
Spider Tool:

TORQUE
Spider Torque:
280-300 ft-lbs (380-406 N·m)
