FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR
The fuel pressure sensor
q
is located in the return fuel
line. The fuel pressure sensor provides the ECU with fuel
pressure and fuel temperature information.
Test the fuel system pressure. Use Digital Wrench, the
fuel pump prime test connector, or start the engine to
power the fuel pump. Compare pressure results to
specification.
NOTICE
If additional information is needed on fuel pump prime,
see .
If using a battery to power the fuel pump, verify the
battery is fully charged.
Fuel Pressure:
650 Models:
42 to 49 psi (292 to 336 kPa)
@ 12-14 VDC Fuel Pump Power
850 Models:
57 to 62.5 psi (393 to 431 kPa)
@ 12-14 VDC Fuel Pump Power
Preferred method for testing fuel pump pressure is with
engine running.
When using standby 12V battery, verify battery is fully
charged and can supply required voltage to fuel pump.
NOTICE
If fuel sensor replacement is required, the return fuel
line must be replaced as an assembly.
