WARNINGS AND SAFEGUARDS

Before installation of the Polario™, read and follow these important Warnings and Safeguards.

This product may contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause

cancer and or birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash your hand after

handling this product.
It is your sole responsibilities to verify that the plug and the receptacle are

clean and free of moisture and salt build up at all times. The receptacle

must be free of water, salt, calcium, magnesium and dust. Failure to do so

can cause fire, damage to property, permanent damage to the product and

personal injury not limited to loss of life.
Do not plug into extension cord/power strip.
A drip loop must be used when plugging all electrical aquarium devices. A drip

loop is that part of the cord hanging below the receptacle.
The national code requires that a GFCI (Ground fault circuit interrupter) be

used in the branch circuit supplying all power to water pumps and electrical

aquarium equipment. If you do not have a GFCI, have an electrician install

one prior to operating any aquarium component.

MAGNET MOUNT

DANGER !

•

Very strong magnet! Not a toy! Keep out of reach of children! Failure to do so will cause serious

injury and/or permanent damage to your aquarium.

•

Keep out of reach of children.

•

Due to the strength of the magnets, they will attract other metals or magnets with force. When

installing or handling magnets, there must not be any other magnets or metals in close proximity to

the magnet holders. Failure to do so can cause serious injury.

•

Keep away from devices sensitive to magnetic fields, such as pacemakers, data carriers, credit

cards, electronic equipment and medical devices. Failure to do so may result in permanent

damage to such devices.

•

Never allow magnets to snap together.

•

Always handle magnets one at a time. Once separated keep a minimum of 12in (30cm) apart.

•

Hold magnets only by the sides. Never get your fingers or hands between the contact surfaces.

•

When using as an algae cleaner, keep the algae pad free of any abrasive materials to avoid any

damage to the aquarium.

Note: magnets are very strong and will attract other metals and magnets that will embed themselves

in the algae pad, thus damaging the aquarium.

MAINTENANCE:

It is the utmost importance to clean and maintain the pump monthly. Remove

the strainers to access the propeller. Remove the propeller which should slide

off the motor easily. Now reinstall and verify that the propeller rotates easily

around the motor. If the propeller binds or there is too much drag created: the

motor, propeller and ceramic shaft need to be cleaned well. These high speed

motors attract calcium build up, let the pump soak in a water/vinegar solution

for a minimum of 1 hour. (3 parts water to 1 part vinegar) Then clean well with

a small brush. If the pump has not been maintained on a regular basis or if

high amount of calcium is added this process may be needed to be repeated.

If there is any noticeable damage to the propeller replace immediately.
Verify the intake strainers are free and clean of all debris at all times

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Controller will not power up and/or pump will not turn on: It is imperative to

keep  the  pump  clean  and  well  maintained  to  ensure  the  pump  is  in  good

working order and the propeller and strainer clean at all times, failure to do so

will cause the 4 ML, 7 ML and 10 ML controller to shut down. At that time the

fuse will have to be replaced.

SOLUTION:

1.  Turn off the unit and unplug the transformer
2.  Remove the back plate of the controller (1a).
3.  Locate fuse and with a flat head screwdriver remove the blown fuse
4.  Replace 1.6 amp fast blow fuse for 4ML and 2.5 amp fast blow fuse for

7ML and 10ML.

5.  Install back plate of the unit.
6.  Verify that the impeller is clean and free of all debris, the pump is placed

back into the aquarium and that the strainers are free of all debris.

7.  Restart the unit.
