Usage Guide:
After authentication is configured on the cisco router, the RIP packets will exceeds the length of the defined standard
length of the protocol once the number of route items is greater than 25. By configuring this command the
over-lengthen RIP packets will be receivable other than denied.
Example:
Switch# config terminal
Switch(config)# interface vlan 1
Switch(Config-if-Vlan1)# ip rip authentication cisco-compatible

ip rip receive-packet
no ip rip receive-packet
Function:
Set the interface to be able to receivable RIP packets; the “
no ip rip receive-packet
” command set the interface to
be unable to receivable RIP packets.
Default:
Interface receives RIP packets.

Interface Configuration Mode.
