Listening to the FM radio
The following ste p s show you how to tune in to FM r adio
b r oadcasts using the automatic (sea r ch) and manual (ste p )
tuning functions. Once you a r e tuned to a station you can
memo r ize the f r equency fo r r ecall late r . See
Saving station
presets below fo r mo r e on how to do this.
1 Press TUNER to select the tuner.
2 Use BAND to change the band “FM“, if necessary.
Each pr ess switches the band between FM (ste r eo o r mono) .
3 Tune to a station.
The r e a r e th r ee ways to do this:
Automatic tuning
To sea r ch fo r stations in the cu rr ently selected band,
pr ess and hold
TUNE
/
fo r about a second. The
r eceive r will sta r t sea r ching fo r the next station, sto pp ing
when it has found one. Re p eat to sea r ch fo r othe r
stations.
Manual tuning
To change the f r equency one ste p at a time, pr ess
TUNE
/

High speed tuning
P r ess and hold
TUNE
/
fo r high s p eed tuning.
Release the button at the f r equency you want.
– Lights when a no r mal b r oadcast channel.
– Lights when a ste r eo FM b r oadcast is being r eceived in
auto ste r eo mode.
Improving FM sound
If the o r indicato r s don’t light when tuning to an FM
station because the signal is weak, set the r eceive r to the
mono r ece p tion mode.

Press BAND to select FM MONO.
This should im pr ove the sound quality and allow you to enjoy
the b r oadcast.
Saving station presets
If you often listen to a p a r ticula r r adio station, it’s convenient
to have the r eceive r sto r e the f r equency fo r easy r ecall
wheneve r you want to listen to that station. This saves the
effo r t of manually tuning in each time. This unit can
memo r ize u p to 40 stations.
1 Tune to a station you want to memorize.

2 Press TUNER EDIT.
The pr eset numbe r is blinking.
3 Press PRESET
/
to select the station preset you
want.
You can also use the nume r ic buttons. See Direct track search
on p age 14.
4 Press ENTER.
The pr eset numbe r sto p blinking and the r eceive r sto r es the
station.
Note
• If the r eceive r is left disconnected f r om the AC p owe r
outlet fo r ove r a month, the station memo r ies will be lost
and will have to be r e pr og r ammed.
• Stations a r e sto r ed in ste r eo. When the station is sto r ed
in the FM MONO mode, it shows as when r ecalled.

You will need to have some pr esets sto r ed to do this. See
Saving station presets above if you haven’t done this al r eady.


Naming preset stations
Fo r easie r identification, you can name all of you r pr eset
stations.
1 Choose the station preset you want to name.

2 Press TUNER EDIT twice.
The cu r so r at the fi r st cha r acte r p osition is blinking on the
dis p lay.
3 Input the name you want.
Choose a name u p to eight cha r acte r s long.

to select cha r acte r s.
• The name is sto r ed when ENTER is pr essed.
