Naming station presets
Fo r easie r identification, you can name you r station
p r esets.
1 Choose the station preset you want to name.

on page 51 fo r how to do
this.
2 Press T.EDIT (TUNER EDIT).
The display shows
PRESET NAME
, then a blinking cu r so r
at the fi r st cha r acte r position.
3 Input the name you want.
Use
/
to select a cha r acte r ,
/
to set the position,
and ENTER to confi r m you r selection.
Tip
• To e r ase a station name, simply r epeat steps 1 to 3
and input eight spaces instead of a name.
• Once you have named a station p r eset, you can p r ess
DISP
when listening to a station to switch the display
between name and f r equency.

• This section desc r ibes how to listen to Inte r net r adio
on the SC-LX73. On the SC-LX83, Inte r net r adio is

Inte r net r adio is an audio b r oadcasting se r vice
t r ansmitted via the Inte r net.

managed, and b r oadcast by p r ivate individuals while

OTA (ove r -the-ai r ), r adio stations a r e geog r aphically
r est r icted on the r ange of r adio waves b r oadcast f r om a

accessible f r om anywhe r e in the wo r ld, as long as the r e
is a connection to the Inte r net, as se r vices a r e not
t r ansmitted th r ough the ai r but a r e delive r ed ove r the
Wo r ld Wide Web.

Inte r net r adio stations a r e p r og r ammed in this
r eceive r befo r e it leaves the facto r y, the link may have
expi r ed. In that case, p r eset the stations again
you r self.
1 Press NET RADIO to switch to the Internet radio
input.

The Inte r net Radio list sc r een is displayed.

to select the Internet radio station to play
back, and then press ENTER.

to sc r oll up and down the list and select the
desi r ed item. When you p r ess ENTER , playback sta r ts
with the playback sc r een being displayed fo r the selected
item. Depending on the Inte r net line conditions, the
sound may not be smooth when playing Inte r net r adio.

Programming the Internet radio stations
By p r og r amming the Inte r net r adio stations you wish to
listen to onto this r eceive r , you will be able to select those
Inte r net r adio stations. You can p r og r am up to 24
stations.
The r e a r e two methods of p r og r amming: one lets you use
the GUI sc r een on this r eceive r ; the othe r lets you
connect you r compute r and use that sc r een.
Programming with the GUI screen
1 Press TOP MENU when the Internet Radio station
list is displayed.
The Inte r net Radio Setup sc r een is displayed.
Note
1 • To listen to Inte r net r adio stations, you must have high-speed b r oadband Inte r net access. With a 56 K o r ISDN modem, you may not enjoy
the full benefits of Inte r net r adio.
• To listen to Inte r net r adio stations, you must sign a cont r act with an ISP (Inte r net Se r vice P r ovide r ) befo r ehand.
• The po r t numbe r va r ies depending on the Inte r net r adio station. Check the fi r ewall settings.
• B r oadcasts may be stopped o r inte rr upted depending on the Inte r net r adio station. In this case, you cannot listen to a r adio station selected
f r om the list of Inte r net r adio stations.
2 The Inte r net r adio function cannot be selected in the main zone when the iPod/USB function is selected in the sub zone. Also, the Inte r net
r adio function cannot be selected in the sub zone when the iPod/USB function is selected in the main zone.
3 When the list sc r een is displayed f r om the playback sc r een, the playback sc r een r eappea r s automatically if no ope r ation is pe r fo r med fo r 10
seconds while the list sc r een is displayed.
