ABOUT MP3 FILES
MP3 files may be found in two ty p es, those with Constant Bit Rate (CBR), and those with Va r iable Bit Rate (VBR). This p laye r su pp o r ts
p layback and DJ p lay of both CBR and VBR ty p e files, but VBR files may exhibit slowe r p e r fo r mance when using sea r ch and su p e r fast
sea r ch functions, com p a r ed to CBR files. When p layback p e r fo r mance is pr efe rr ed, r eco r d you r files using CBR.
This unit su pp o r ts MP3 files subject to the following fo r mats:
*1 In o r de r to dis p lay cha r acte r s w r itten in a local code othe r than Unicode, the UTILITY function must be used to set the language.
*2 Files with o r iginal image size la r ge r than 800 x 800 p ixels cannot be dis p layed.

The MEP-7000 is ca p able of p laying iTunes

-encoded AAC files with extension .m4a, as well as .aac and .m p 4 files. Howeve r , co p y-
pr otected files p u r chased at p laces like iTunes Music Sto r e cannot be p layed. Fu r the r , some files may not be p layable, de p ending on the
ve r sion of iTunes in which they we r e encoded.
