Using the USB interface
It is p ossible to listen to two channels of audio
f r om you r com p ute r by connecting to the US B
inte r face on the r ea r of this r eceive r .
De p ending on you r model of com p ute r and the
softwa r e installed, you can listen to the ste r eo
audio sou r ce th r ough the s p eake r setu p you’ve
connected to this r eceive r .

1 Connect your computer’s USB terminal to
the USB terminal on the rear panel of this
receiver.
2 Switch on your computer and this
receiver.
3 If you’re connecting for the first time,
wait for the USB driver installation to finish.
The installation may take a minute o r two to
com p lete. Make su r e you leave the US B cable
connected until the dialog box indicates that
the US
B setu p is finished. Note that some
olde r o p e r ating systems may r equi r e a disc fo r
installation.

4 Press USB to select the USB input.
You can also use the
INPUT SELECTOR
dial on
the f r ont p anel.
5 Make any necessary settings required to
select the USB interface as your computer
audio output.
You will need to make su r e the co rr ect s p eake r
setting is selected with the audio softwa r e
you’ r e using. Please r efe r to the manual that
came with the softwa r e to make these settings.
6 Turn up the volume control on your
computer and this receiver.
You may want to sta r t with a fai r ly low volume
on this r eceive r and tu r n it u p as necessa r y
afte r you’ve checked you r levels.
7 Start playback of a source on your
computer.
Important
If you have followed the ste p s above, and still
can’t hea r any audio out p ut, t r y the following :
• Switch the r eceive r off, then on again.
• Selecting anothe r in p ut sou r ce (like CD o r
TAPE ), then back to USB .

• Make su r e you r US B cable connects f r om an A-ty p e connecto r (f r om you r PC) to a 4- p in B -ty p e connecto r (to this unit).
• The US B s p ecification is ve r sion 1.1 com p atible, and the US B Audio Class s p ecification is ve r sion 1.0 com p atible.
• Com p ute r ale r t sounds will also be hea r d th r ough the s p eake r s unless you disable them f r om the com p ute r ’s cont r ol p anel.
• You won’t be able to hea r the audio f r om the US B connection th r ough the digital out p uts of this unit.
• Note that using hubs o r extensions may cause connection pr oblems.
