6. basics
The adapter converts commands comming via RS232 into binary signals to control the
piezosystem jena fiberswitches for the RS232 as following:
115200 baud
no handshake
no parity
8 databits
1 stop bit
Those parameters are hardwired in the cotroller and can be changed at
piezosystem
jena
only.
Please use a normal serial cable (1:1, plug/cocket) to connect your computer to the
RS232 box.
7. power suply
Use the provided power supply to connect your supply to your RS232 box and the
fiberswitch. The inner contact of the plug is connected to plus, the outer one to minus
and the casing.
The supply voltage can range from 6,5V to 12V DC, the current is depending on the
switching operation, 80-150mA.
8. interface control
After power up the RS232 sends a welcome string to the pc:
„piezosystem jena FSM19 V1“ followed by <LF><CR>
control commands:
ch,1<CR> binary output 0
ch,2<CR> binary output 1
ch,3<CR> binary output 2
an so on
ch,9<CR> binary output 8
All other inputs are recognized as errors and will be ignored.
An inputs correction using „backspace“(0x09) is not possible.
In this case send<CR> to invalidate the command and send it again.
If a command is not recognized
, the adapter sends „error“ followed by <LF><CR>
(Hex: 65 72 72 6F 72 OA OD).
