4-5. Post-Operation
4-5.1 Stowing the Aerial
1. Return the waterway monitor and nozzle
(if equipped)
to the stowed position.
2. Remove any Lyfe options.
3. Remove personnel from the aerial device.
4. Clear the area.
5. Locate a primary operator at the turntable control console.
NOTE: Do not completely retract the ladder. Leave ladder extended slightly until aerial is almost positioned
in the boom support and the back of the ladder still clears the back wall of the cab.
6. Retract the ladder and Lower the ladder close to the stowed position. Do not completely retract the ladder as it
need to be extended slightly to clear the back wall of the cab until the aerial is almost resting in the boom support.
7. Rotate the ladder until it lines up with the support boom support.
Failure to remove Lyfe options before stowing your aerial device may cause damage to the device, the
equipment, or other parts of the apparatus.
Retracting the ladder completely with the aerial elevated too far will result in the back of the aerial
contacting the back of the cab, causing damage to equipment.
