Configuring the Device

FMGuard like Linkwise past products is a web

–

based product. Using any web-browser on the

PC the user with administrative rights can access all the user configuration pages.

IP Address

Setup the device with RJ45 ethernet cable plugged onto the RJ45 socket of the device on one
end and the other either to the network ethernet switch or directly to a PC.

FMGuard is can be either STATIC or Dynamic. Its default IP address is

192.168.1.10

.

Standalone Configuration: Static IP

An ethernet cable (provided with the FMGuard unit) is required to connect the FMGuard
to a PC or laptop.

In order for the FMGuard and PC to connect to each other, the PC must be manually set
to a statis IP address that is within the same subnet as FMGuard. Given the default address
192.168.1.10 and 255.2555.255.0 as subnet mask, a suitable address for the PC would be
192.168.1.2 or any other IP address other than 192.168.1.10.
