A6 Current Delay Time
After the last control pulse the stop current is activated after a waiting time. The waiting
time after the last control pulse until change to stop current is called current delay time.
We recommend tospecify t
Delay
so that the motor’s oscillations are dying out after the last
motor step and mispositioning is avoided.
The current delay time is set to 40 ms.
Automatic change from run to stop current:
The ratio between both phase currents remains equal in the respective current feed
pattern. Changing from run to stop current is synchronously for both motor phases.
In the following figure the next motor step follows after every
falling
control pulse edge:

Decreasing to stop current takes the following advantages:

Motor and power stage heating is reduced.
•
EMC is improved because of smaller current values
