C.2
Timer
There are four general purpose timers available. The following sections show some use cases,
how the timers can be used.
C.2.1
Strobe Signal Output
The timer can be used to generate a pulse with a certain width on the LineOut output together
with every exposure cycle in order to control an external light. The following procedure shows,
how to configure one of the timer for this purposes:
1.
Select one of the four available timers by setting of the
TimerSelector
to
Timer0
,
Timer1
,
Timer2
or
Timer3
.
2.
Select the timer trigger source. Set
TimerTriggerSource
to
ExposureStart
.
3.
Parameter
TimerTriggerActivation
can be ignored. This configuration is only necessary,
when
Line0
input is selected as a trigger source.
4.
Configure the necessary
TimerDuration
value and the
TimerDelay
value.
At this stage, the configured timer generates a pulse of a certain width and after a certain
delay every time, when a new exposure cycle starts, which is indicated by the internally
available
TimerActive
status. This signal must be connected to the camera LineOut output,
which can be done in the DigitalIOControl section:
1.
Set the
LineSelector
to
LineOut0
.
2.
Set the
LineSource
of this output to the corresponding timer acitve signal:
Timer0Active
,
Timer1Active
,
Timer2Active
or
Timer3Active
.
3.
Set the polarity of this output accordingly with the parameter
LineInverter
.
C.3
Counter
There are four general purpose counters available, which can be used to count any events in
the camera. The following sections show some use cases, how the counters can be used. There
are some examples of simple counter configurations as well as some more sophisticated
settings.
