Mounting the controller
Safety notes
NOTE: Overheating due to high ambient temperature
At an altitude of 0 m ... 2000 m above mean sea level, the controller can be operated
without a fan module at ambient temperatures up to +60°C. Higher ambient tempera
-
tures can cause the device to overheat.
Recommended:
• At an altitude of 0 m ... 2000 m above mean sea level, operate the RFC 4072R with
a fan module at an ambient temperature above 50°C.
The RFC 4072R
must
always
be operated with the fan module in the following ambi
-
ent conditions:
– 0°C
...
+55°C (2000
m ... 3000 m above mean sea level)
– 0°C
...
+50°C (3000
m ... 4000 m above mean sea level)
NOTE: Overheating due to covered vents
The RFC 4072R can overheat if the vents on the device are covered.
• When installing the controller, make sure that the vents on the device are kept
clear.
• During installation, leave a gap of > 10 cm above and below the device.
• Do not install devices below the controller that could additionally heat the controller
up.
Please note:
• Mount the controller on a grounded 35 mm standard DIN rail with an installed
height of 15 mm. The distance between the DIN rail fastening points must not ex
-
).
• To avoid contact resistance, only use clean, corrosion-free DIN rails.
• Use end brackets to stop the devices from slipping on the DIN rail.
If operating the controller with a fan module:
• Mount the fan module on the RFC 4072R
before
you mount the controller, see
Section “Mounting the fan module” on page 70
.
