10 Removing hardware
10.1 Safety notes
NOTE: Electrostatic discharge
Electrostatic discharge can damage or destroy components. When handling the de
-
vice, observe the necessary safety precautions against electrostatic discharge (ESD)
in accordance with EN 61340-5-1 and IEC 61340-5-1.
WARNING: Unintentional machine startup
If you remove the controller while the power is connected, this could result in uninten
-
tional machine startup and possibly cause personal injuries.
• Disconnect the power to the controller before removing it.
• Ensure the power to the controller cannot be switched on again.
• Remove the supply connectors (COMBICON connectors) from the controller.
NOTE: Damage to the contacts when tilting
You can damage the contacts if you tilt the controller when removing it from the DIN
rail.
• Keep the controller perpendicular to the DIN rail when removing it.
