1. Choose a mounting location on a flat surface away from heat
and moisture. Be sure the location and the drilling of pilot
holes for mounting will not present a hazard to any wires,
control cables, fuel lines, fuel tanks, hydraulic lines, or other
vehicle systems or components. Choose a location with
unimpaired air circulation and do not mount upside down.
2. D i s c o n n e c t t h e n e g a t i v e ( - ) b a t t e r y t e r m i n a l .
NOTE: Check your vehicle's owner's manual before
disconnecting the battery. Disconnecting the battery in
some vehicles may require an anti-theft code when
reconnecting for stereo operation. Some vehicles may
run rough after reconnecting the battery and require
service to have the on-board computer reset. Check with
your local dealer if you are uncertain.
3. Run suitable AWG wire to where the subwoofer will be
mounted (run 1 foot extra than you think you will need). Use
rubber grommets where wires will pass through the firewall or
other areas of the vehicle. Make certain a fuse holder is
placed within 18 inches of the vehicle battery – this is
mandatory. Do not place a fuse in the fuse holder at the
battery at this time.
4.
Ground the subwoofer using the same AWG wire size used
for the power cable. Make sure the ground location is a clean,
unpainted metal surface.
5. Run the RCA and Remote turn-on lead to the subwoofer from
the head unit.
6. Place "the 15 amp fuse in the fuse holder at the battery.
7. Set the input level control (GAIN) to "MIN".
8. Turn head unit on and adjust as necessary.

Hi-Level Input
FREQ
The Low Pass Filter controls adjust the crossover point from 50Hz to 125Hz.
Typical crossover is between 60Hz and 80Hz for ported and sealed enclosures.
Bandpass boxes will typically use a higher crossover setting. Depending on your
sub-woofer/box combination, the crossover may be set anywhere between 50Hz
and 125Hz. Since musical tastes vary, you should play music that you would
normally listen to in your vehicle, with the above settings as a starting point. If
necessary, set the crossover by ear.
GAIN
The input level control matches the output of your head unit to the input of the
amplifier. Matching the levels of the head unit and amp give you the highest signal
to noise ratio and ensures that the volume control is useful throughout it's entire
range.
PHASE
The phase of the subwoofer can be reversed 180
°
relative to the front and rear
amplifier channels. In some installations, this can be extremely useful since the
interior dimensions of certain vehicles can create "dead spots" (cancellations)
affecting
your low bass/mid-bass impact.
