•
Attach the central lifting point of the wire rope sling to the crane or Hiab lifting
hook. Attach the four sling hooks to each of the lifting points ensuring the sling
is not twisted or caught around any parts of the Kubota. Take up the slack.
•
Lift the Permaquip Kubota into position, aligned over the track. Continue to
lower the vehicle slowly, allowing the front and rear rail wheels and tyres to
make contact with the rail.
•
Remove the wire rope sling.
•
Lower the tub down onto the rests and re-insert the index pins on both sides.
6.6. Lowering the Rail Gear
•
Ensure the vehicle engine is running, it is in rail mode, the handbrake is
applied and the vehicle is centrally positioned on track facing the required
direction.
•
One person should be positioned in front of the vehicle observing the front rail
gear operation. The vehicle operator should press and hold the rail gear switch
to "FRONT
". Then the hydraulic lever to the side of the driver’s seat can be
moved to the down position to lower the front rail gear. The red LED will
extinguish.
•
The rail gear should be observed to ensure the rail wheels deploy onto the rail
heads correctly. When the wheels are fully deployed, the green LED will
illuminate. The hydraulic lever can then be released and the rail gear switch
can be released.
•
The front rail gear is now correctly deployed.
•
One person should be positioned behind the vehicle observing the rear rail
gear operation. The vehicle operator should press and hold the rail gear switch
to "REAR". Then the hy
draulic lever to the side of the driver’s seat can be
moved to the down position to lower the rear rail gear. The red LED will
extinguish.
•
The rail gear should be observed to ensure the rail wheels deploy onto the rail
heads correctly. When the wheels are fully deployed, the green LED will
illuminate. The hydraulic lever can then be released and the rail gear switch
can be released.
•
The rear rail gear is now correctly deployed.
