Maintenance and Troubleshooting . 69

Cleaning the Air Filters

The air filters are located inside the top panel of the spectrometer module. You should clean

the filters regularly.

To clean the filters:

Switch off the instrument power supply unit, and the deep-depletion CCD power supply,

if applicable.

Disconnect the line power cord.
If you have an optional deep-depletion CCD, disconnect the additional line power cord.

Remove the 4 screws holding the top cover in position and then lift off the cover.

Unclip the filter covers, remove the filters and wash in a mild detergent.

Dry the filters thoroughly.

Fit the air filters back into the spectrometer module, and replace the covers.

Place the top cover in position and replace the 4 screws.
