5. Focus on a sample of polystyrene (part number L1181228).
6. When the polystyrene sample is optimally focused, click to exit the Live display.
7. Select
Toolbox
on the Setup Instrument Advanced tab.
The Adjustments Toolbox dialog is displayed.
8. Select .
The Wavelength Calibration Verification dialog is displayed.
9. Ensure that you have followed the instructions on the dialog, and then click
Next
.
The wavelength calibration verification routine begins. This will take a few minutes. At
the end of the calibration verification, the result is displayed.
10. Remove the polystyrene sample and store safely.
The instrument is now ready for use.
11. Ensure that the probe is covered.
In the unlikely event that the wavelength calibration verification should fail, follow Figure 16.
SOP-8: Wavelength Calibration
Wavelength calibration should only be performed if the instrument has failed a wavelength
calibration verification.
1. Ensure the RamanFlex 400 is switched on.
If not, follow SOP-1.
2. If you have a fiber optic probe connected to the LED FIBER 1 connector, disconnect
the probe as described in
Removing the FOP
on page 48.
3. If you have a RamanFlex 400F and have another fiber optic probe connected to the
instrument, ensure that it is covered.
4. Attach the external neon calibration accessory (L1320220) to the rear panel.
Push the large connector into the socket labeled CALIBRATION, and carefully attach the
small fiber optic cable to the COL coupler below the LED FIBER 1 connector.
NOTE: As wavelength calibration is not required on a regular basis, the external neon
calibration accessory is not included in the basic RamanFlex 400 package. The
external neon calibration accessory can be purchased separately.
