05. Operation
WARNING!
Only use the device for dry hair.
NOTE: Before using for the first time, switch the device on for a few
minutes. As a result of the manufacturing process, a slight odour may be
produced. This is not harmful and only occurs during initial use. Ensure that
the room has good ventilation.
• Judge your hair sensibly: fine or damaged hair reacts to the treatment
more quickly than thick, healthy hair.
• The thinner the strands you are treating, the more intensive the resultant
styling effect.
Switching on and warming up
1. The hair straightener is equipped with a travel lock ( 4 ).
To unlock, press the heating plates together and push the
button on the side marked with the symbol
w
in until it stops,
ensuring that the side with the symbol
v
protrudes (see
image). The hair straightener opens and is ready for use.
2. Place the device on a heat­resistant surface.
3. Connect the mains plug to an easily accessible socket.
4. Use the temperature control (
7
) to select a temperature between 150 °C
and 220 °C adapted to your hair.
5. Push the on­off switch to ON to switch the device on. The indicator light
lights up red. If the set temperature is reached, the indicator light lights
up green.
NOTE: Always select a low temperature when using the device for the
first time.
Select a medium to high temperature to straighten very thick and curly hair
or hair that is difficult to straighten. For normal to slightly wavy hair, a low to
medium temperature is recommended.
Note that high temperatures may affect blond, bleached or coloured hair.
Straightening
1. Dry the hair.
2. Comb the hair well.
3. Separate a strand of hair and comb it smooth.
4. Beginning at the roots of the hair, place the strand between the heating
plates. When doing so, ensure an adequate distance is maintained from
the scalp!
5. Slide evenly from the hair roots to the hair tips. Do not hold in the same
position for too long.
6. Straighten all the hair in this way, strand by strand.
Switching off and cooling down
1. Push the on­off switch to OFF to switch the device off. The indicator
light goes out.
2. Disconnect the mains plug.
3. Allow the device to cool down before cleaning or storing it.
4. Press the heating plates together and push the travel lock button back.
The hair straightener is locked now and can be stored.
