General Description
Pentek’s Onyx
®
Family Model 78741 is a multichannel, high−speed analog data con−
verter. Using the PCI Express
®
half−length card format, the 78741 includes a 3.6 GHz,
12−bit A/D converter and a digital downconverter.
The Model 78741 consists of one Pentek Model 71741 XMC module mounted on a Pen−
tek Model 7807 XMC PCI Express carrier, assembled and tested as a single board. It is
ready to plug into computer boards with PCI Express (PCIe
®
) bus slots.

The Model 78741 includes one 71741 XMC module with the following features

1−channel mode with one 3.6 GHz, 12−bit A/D

2−channel mode with two 1.8 GHz, 12−bit A/Ds

Xilinx

−7 FPGA, with Pentek Digital Downconverter IP Core

4 GB of DDR3 SDRAM
•
Sync bus for multimodule synchronization
•
PCI Express Gen 3 interface x8 wide
•
Optional user−configurable gigabit serial interface

Optional LVDS connections to the Virtex−7 FPGA for custom I/O
