What data cable should be used?

The hardware has been improved to accommodate using Category 5 (CAT5) cable for networking the Net2
controllers. The network labelling has been changed to reflect this. It is still OK to use Beldon 8723 cable.

Things to look out for when wiring:

•

Are the end of line termination resistors in place?

•

Are the reader and data cable screens connected throughout?

(Reader and keypad screens should be connected to the Blk/Wht terminal)

Note about wiring keypads:

A 220Ohm resistor must be wired in series with the green cable core. The

resistor is supplied in the keypad fitting kit.
