1. GENERAL PROVISIONS
Inverter digital rectifiers PATON PRO-315 are designed for manual metal arc welding (MAW "MMA"),
argon-arc welding (ARG "TIG") and semi-automatic welding (SA "MIG/MAG") in the medium of protective
gases and mixtures (as a current source in the composition with an external feeder) for direct current. The
advantages of using a fully digital control method in this machine are the absence of shortcomings inherent
in multifunctional systems made on the basis of analog control systems, which by definition are always set
for a particular mode, and all other modes, as additional, have control shortcomings. In a fully digital
system, the control board has absolutely all the resources of the source, within its full capacity and no
matter in what mode it is used. This “Professional” series is intended for industrial use; due to additional
adjustments, the inverter rectifier can be adjustmented to the most optimal settings in various situations.
These machines provide actually continuous load duration on the full actual rated current 315A,
respectively, which is enough to work with any electrodes from Ø1.6 mm up to high-melting Ø6 mm and
semi-automatic welding with solid wire with diameter from Ø0.6 mm to Ø1.4 mm (for PRO-315). The source
parameters are initially set to optimal values for most use cases, which makes it quite simple if you don’t go
into the details of settings that already require great welding skills. For hazardous working conditions, an
open‐circuit voltage reduction unit in the MAW “MMA” mode is integrated, with the possibility of switching
it on and off.
This VDI model of PATON™ production has integrated block for protection against undervoltage.
Due to the increase in the frequency of the applied voltage to the transformer, it has decreased
tenfold, that is why the machine has several times less weight and overall dimensions with the same output
parameters in comparison with the classical welding equipment.

2. Very wide range of pulsed mode setting in all types of welding.
3. In addition to protection against undervoltage, the machine has a system for stabilizing operation at
large long-term
differences in the interfacial voltage of the mains from 320V to 440V.
4. Adapted to a weak power supply. Due to the high efficiency, the source provides
half the power
consumption
compared to traditional sources of arc current.
5. Adaptive fan speed - is increased at the beginning of welding, and increased even more when the
machine is heated and slowed down when it is cold. This saves the fan life and reduces the amount of
dust in the machine.
6. Ease of operation due to the long load duration (LD) at the
rated current
, which allows
continuous
welding with Ø6 mm electrodes with a welding cable length of up to 16 m (for PRO-315).
7. Increased reliability of the machine in a dusty production - microelectronics of the source is placed in a
separate compartment.

A thermal electronic protection system
is installed on all the heated elements of the source.
9. All the electronics in the machine is covered with
two layers
of high-quality varnish, which ensures the
reliability of the product during the whole service life.
10. Improved arc excitation and stability, which virtually eliminates the electrode adhesion.
11. Small dimensions and weight of the machine without technical qualities los , which makes it easy to
perform welding in hard-to-reach places.
