ADI 200 STANDARD TIG/MMA MIG/MAG
ATTENTION!
As a protective gas, carbon dioxide (CO
2
) should be used
in welding ferrous metals, only such inert gas as argon (Ar) or, sometimes,
helium (He) should be used in welding aluminum, and a gas mixture, such
as 70 % Ar + 30 % CO
2
, should be used in welding stainless steels and high-
alloy steels. The use of other gases is allowed only by agreement with the
manufacturer of the welding unit.
5.1. PREPARING THE WELDING UNIT FOR OPERATION
The order of preparing the device for MIG/MAG welding with the PATON™ production
wire feeder
1.
Install the source on the base of the wire feed mechanism, for better stability, fasten and
tighten the belt with the source and the base (through the holes in the form of slits on the
sides of the source), the strap is included in the set;
2.
Connect the signal transfer cable from the feeder to the connector
(8)
on the back panel of
the welder;
3.
Connect the grounding cable to the
B "-"
source socket, and the polarization cable in the
feeder
(8)
to the
A "+"
socket - solid wire welding, in the situation of self-shielding wire,
connect the grounding cable to welding machine
A " + ",
while the polarization cable in the
feeder
(8)
should be attached to the welder socket
B "-"
.
4.
Connect the grounding cable to the workpiece.
5.
Connect the
MIG/MAG
welding torch to the connector
(7)
in wire feeding unit.
6.
Connect the pressure reducer to the fitting of the cylinder with CO
2
or Ar + CO
2
protective
gas.
7.
Connect shielding gas cylinders to the nozzle
(13)
on the rear panel of the feeder.
8.
Open the shut-off valve of the gas cylinder. Check the tightness of the connection with the
gas cylinder.
9.
Install the wire spools with the required diameter, lift up the pressure rollers and adjust them
to the diameter of the installed wire;
10.
Pass the end of the wire through the inlet connector
(10)
into the wire feeding unit;
11.
Let down and clamp the welding wire between the rollers, the scale of the roller pressure is
visible on the plastic knob, if the lack of experience can be initially set in the middle
position (i.e., approximately 3);
12.
Connect the power cable of welding unit to the outlet of the power supply system;
13.
Connect the power cable of wire feeder unit to the outlet of the power supply system;
14.
Set switch
(9)
on the rear panel of the welding unit to position I (switching on).
15.
Set switch
(12)
on the rear panel of the feeding unit to position I (switching on).
