PassTime GPS Install Guide v 2.5
Pg. 1
December 2010
Overview
This document defines and specifies the
GPS
, available under this version:
•
Model name: PTE-2 – HW Version 1.0 ; SW Version 1.0
Installation
Installing the
GPS
unit is a simple procedure. All device harness connections will be made in close
proximity to the steering column in the wiring harness, which runs up the column towards the steering
wheel. Due to the long-range operational nature of the
GPS
unit, all connections should be soldered and
taped or heat shrunk using the correct soldering and insulation techniques to provide high-quality
connections. However, you may leave the unit itself out in the open and within your line of sight. The
quality of your installation is the single most important factor in this product’s success.
This section covers:
•
Wiring the PassTime Device Harness into the ignition switch harness.
(Do not plug the GPS unit
into the harness until you have made all connections.)
•
