1. To clean dust bag, turn the bag inside
out and reattach to unit.
2. Start engine and run at full throttle.
Lightly tap bag to release dirt trapped in
the weave.
3. When clean, turn bag right side out and
reattach to unit.
4. Bag can be washed if extremely dirty.
LUBRICATION
Add a few drops of oil to the throttle control
cable and wire to help keep it operating
smoothly.
IMPORTANT:
NEVER spray unit with high-
pressure water or store unit outdoors. Store
unit in a cool, dry, protected location.
Cleaning
NOTE:
Allow unit to cool before cleaning.
Clean unit thoroughly with mild soap and low
pressure water. Brush off dirt and debris from
all surfaces. Touch up all scratched surfaces
to prevent rust. Matching touch-up paint is
available from your Dealer. Do not use
abrasives, solvents, or harsh cleaners.
Inspection
Inspect unit and repair or replace worn or
damaged parts to avoid delays when
beginning use again.
Regularly check all hardware and keep
fasteners tight. Know unit is in safe working
condition.
Dust Bag
Wash out dust bag and allow to dry before
storage. Dust bag may be stored in position
on mower.
Engine
When storing unit for extended periods of
time, remove all fuel from tank and carburetor
(run dry). Refer to engine manual.
Fuel System
Gasoline left in the fuel system for extended
periods without a stabilizer will deteriorate,
resulting in gum deposits in the system.
These deposits can damage the carburetor
and the fuel hoses, filter and tank. Prevent
deposits from forming in the fuel system
during storage by adding a quality fuel
stabilizer to the fuel. Follow the
recommended mix ratio found on the fuel
stabilizer container.
To treat the fuel system for storage:
1. Add fuel stabilizer according to
manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Run engine for at least 10 minutes after
adding stabilizer to allow it to reach the
carburetor.
NEVER store the engine with fuel in the fuel
tank inside of a building with potential
sources of ignition.
