Basic Operation
Playback a Tape
■
Press to stop and/or eject tape.

Insert a cassette.
Press PLAY.
• Playback begins if cassette
has no record tab (see page6.)

Check list before you begin.
All connections are made. (See page 9.)
Your unit is plugged in.
• The unit power comes on
automatically.
To prevent tape jam
Inspect your cassette tapes and
remove any loose or peeling labels.

To Find a Particular Scene
Forward Search

Press FF/SLOW+
(To release, press PLAY or FF)
Reverse Search
➔
Press REW/SLOW-
(To release, press PLAY or REW)

To view a Still (Freeze) picture
➔
Press STILL/PAUSE
(To release, press PLAY)
■
To view in Slow Motion
➔
Press FF/SLOW+
(increases speed)
or REW/SLOW-
(decreases speed)
in the Still mode
(To release, press PLAY)

To view Frame by Frame Advance

Press STILL/PAUSE in the Still mode
(To release, press PLAY)

To stop

Press STOP

To rewind tape

Press FF/SLOW+ in Stop mode

To fast forward tape

Press REW/SLOW- in Stop mode

To eject tape

Press EJECT on the remote or
STOP/EJECT on the unit
Note
• After the unit is in Still or Slow mode for 3 minutes, it will switch to
Stop mode automatically to protect the tape and the video head.
• While main picture is TV mode, and VCR Playback in PIP mode,
FF, REW, PLAY, STOP, SEARCH, CM SKIP and STILL operation
is possible. During DVD playback on Main Picture, VCR cannot be
operated with remote control buttons. Please use unit buttons.
• Pressing PLAY in Stop mode starts playback on the main screen
only, not the PIP screen.

Digital Auto Tracking
Continuously analyzes the signal and adjusts for optimum picture quality.
Manual Tracking Control (PIP screen is not displayed)
Use during Playback and Slow Motion mode to reduce picture noise.
Press the 3 or 6 NUMBERED key on the remote control or
CH (TRACKING)
on the unit until the picture clears up. To return
to Auto Tracking, press POWER off, then on again a few seconds later.
V-Lock Control (PIP screen is not displayed)
In Still mode, the 3 or 6 NUMBERED key on the remote control
or CH (TRACKING)
on the unit operate as a V-Lock control
to reduce jitter.
Pure flat
Picture Tube
This unit is equipped with Pure flat Picture Tube.
*Important:
if a remote control button does not work when
pressed, press the
button on the remote
and try the button again.
