19.4 Functional characters for lot numbers
Use the lot number function to replace the marking characters of time, date or counter with
your own text.
Functional characters such as current date and time or lot are based on the system clock of the laser
marking system (“System settings” > “System clock configuration”). It may happen that the system
clock deviates from the accurate time due to errors of internal parts or low battery level.
Therefore, check the system clock in the laser marking system regularly to ensure that the date and
time are correct.
When the TIME HOLD IN (No. 22) input of the I/O connector turns ON, the current date and
time are retained. The marking process is performed with the time and date at the point at
which the input was turned on. In this particular case the functional characters for date/time
and lot are not updated. For details about the TIME HOLD IN input, refer to the “Setup and
Maintenance Guide”.
Settings
Specify the settings in the “Lot” tab of the “Functional characters” dialog.
You must specify the parameters for the lot configuration number in the “Function settings”
tab in advance, before you set the functional character. For “Lot configuration No.”, select the
lot configuration number that you configured in the “Function settings” tab.
Setting range: “0” to “15”, “16 (global)” to “31 (global)”
