• “Horizontal quiet zone to module width ratio”:
Set the ratio of quiet zone width to module width.
• “Vertical quiet zone to module width ratio”:
Set the ratio of quiet zone height to module width.
• “Error correction level”:
PDF417 has error correction capability to restore data if the code is dirty or damaged.
Select one of nine error correction levels.
If “Auto” is selected, the optimal error correction level is set automatically depending on
the code data and the settings for compaction mode.
• “Total width [mm]”, “Total height [mm]”:
Displays the entire width and height of the PDF417 code, including the quiet zone.
Filling line spacing:
• To set the distance between the marking lines, enter a value for “Bar code filling line
spacing [mm]” in the “Object group” settings.

15.16.2 Invert a PDF417 code
The “Invert” setting inverts the colors of a PDF417 code (white spaces become black, and
black bars become white).
1. To edit the parameters of the PDF417 code, select the object in the object list or in the
marking image editor.
The parameters are displayed in the category below the object list.
2. To invert the PDF417 code, select “Invert” under “Module”.
When the check box is selected, the spaces between bars, and the quiet zone are
marked.
