1-6-1 Lubricating the Linear Encoder
One linear encoder is used for each of X-and Y-axis of X-Y unit in this machine. Applying grease for
specified terms successfully lessens the wear of dust seal and sliding resistor of detected head to
the minimum.
To prevent the foreign body from entering from the outside, dust seal of linear encoder is usually
structured as follows.
NOTICE
In pushing the dust seal into or applying grease, carry out followings.
1. Do not push more dust seal into the linear encoder than it is necessary. It might
damage the organization inside.
2. Do not use such sharp things as drivers. They might damage the dust seal.
