SD Memory Card
The SD memory card slot on this computer only accepts SD memory cards. It is not
compatible with MultiMedia cards, so do not try to insert these cards.
If you want to use a MultiMedia card, you will require a PC Card adaptor or USB reader/writer
(sold separately) that is compatible with MultiMedia cards.
The SD memory card may be used in the following ways:

Storing files, etc.
z
Exchanging data with devices equipped with an SD memory card slot.
z
Writing music data (checkout) to the card and listening to the music.
• The SD memory card has a copyright protection function which is compatible with
content on-demand services on the Internet, etc.

Use instead of entering a password. (

You can insert an SD memory card instead of entering a password to start your computer
or log on to Windows.
The drive letter for the SD memory card

The drive letter for the SD memory card cannot be changed or fixed. The drive letter for
the SD memory card is allocated as the first drive letter available when the memory card
is first recognized.

The drive letter is a single character from A to Z allocated to storage devices (drives) or
network drives by Windows.
Formats for SD memory cards

Although your SD memory card has been formatted prior to purchase, when you
re-format, use SD memory card format software. (Do not use [Format] of Windows.)

When using the SD memory card with other peripheral devices, format the SD memory
card using the peripheral device. For details, refer to the device’s instruction manual.
