Chapter 1. Installation
1. Push the keyed female M8 connector end of the factory-supplied standard (black) cable into the mating
bulkhead connector on the back of the transmitter module.
2. Make sure the pins are properly aligned using the key in the female connector. Then, secure the connectors
together by sliding the metal sleeve on the female connector over the bulkhead connector and turning it
clockwise until it is tight.
3. Using the flying leads at the other end of the factory-supplied cable, connect the transmitter to the external
analog power and measurement device.
Note: The blue and brown leads also carry the measurement signal current output of 4-20 mA.
4. Trim any unused leads even with the outer cable jacket to remove any bare wire and prevent accidental short
circuits.
1.4.1.2 Standard connection with a HART master (handheld device or control system)
1. Push the keyed female M8 connector end of the factory-supplied cable into the mating male connector on the
back of the transmitter module.
2. Make sure the pins are properly aligned using the key in the female connected. Then, secure the connectors
together by sliding the metal sleeve on the cable over the connectors and turning it clockwise until it is tight.
3. Using the brown and blue flying leads at the other end of the factory-supplied cable, connect the HygroPro
II
as
shown below to the 24 VDC power supply through the 250 Ω load resistor that is used to convert the 4 – 20 mA
output to a 1 – 5 VDC signal.
4. Trim any unused leads even with the outer cable jacket to remove any bare wire and prevent accidental short
circuits.
5. The HART protocol allows for up to two masters to be connected simultaneously to a single HART slave
(HygroPro
II
).
