4.1.7 Serial Port Test (cont.)
Type a character at the terminal. If the character is received correctly, the hexadecimal value of the character sent
will be returned (see Figure 44 below). If the character is not returned, this is usually due to incorrect parity or stop-bit
settings. If the initial waiting prompt is not seen or is garbled, this is an indication of an incorrect baud rate setting.

Note: The Aurora H2O will remain in test mode until it is turned off or it is reset or power-cycled.
4.2 Ethernet Settings
The Aurora H2O supports Modbus/TCP over Ethernet. This enables remote access to measurement and diagnostic
data whenever an Ethernet LAN connection is available.

WARNING!
The Ethernet option provided in the Aurora H2O is designed for use on a limited-access
Local Area Network (LAN) protected by a suitable firewall. It should not be operated if
exposed to the Internet or other unmanaged Wide Area Network (WAN). Check with
your network administrator to determine whether it is safe to connect the Aurora H2O to
your network infrastructure.
WARNING!
The Ethernet option in the Aurora H2O is based on technology from Digi International
Inc. It includes built-in HTTP (web) and Telnet servers to provide administrative access
and control. As shipped from the factory, there are two accounts enabled, with default
passwords assigned. These default passwords are public knowledge, and widely
distributed.

It is
IMPERATIVE that the default passwords be changed before placing the Aurora H2O
into service!
