INTRODUCTION

The PLI04USB is a dedicated interface designed to feed stereo audio from

your computer’s USB port to balanced mic inputs of a mixing console. It

provides high quality 24-bit D/A conversion and supports 44.1, 48 and 96

kHz sample rates. Output is transformer balanced on standard wiring male

XLR connectors with individual isolating switches for the left and right

channels. In addition, the PLI04USB features a headphones output with

level control plus mono summing and ground lift pushbuttons.

WORKING WITH THE PLI04USB
INPUT SIDE

1

USB Input. Connect a quality USB cable from your computer’s USB port

to this input.

2

Sample Rate Indicators. The orange, white and green LEDs indicate the

current sample rates of 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz respectively.

3

Power LED. The red LED lights up when the PLI04USB is powered via the

USB cable.

4

Headphones Output. Connect your headphones to this 3.5 mm mini

TRS jack for monitoring.

5

Headphones Level. This controls the signal volume to your headphones.

6

Mono Sum. This merges the stereo inputs to a mono signal. The head -

phones output [4] and Both XLR outputs [7] then carry the same mono

signal. This way, this unit can also be used as a splitter.

OUTPUT SIDE

7

XLR Outputs L/R. These ouputs carry the balanced mic level stereo

signal or the mono sum when the mono switch

6

 is pressed.

8

Isolating Switches L/R. Pushing these buttons provides electrical

isolation between computer and mixing console to eliminate hum and/

or computer noise in the audio signal. Most helpful when feeding a mono

sum to

individual destinations.

9

Ground Lift Switch. This pushbutton interrupts the ground connection

between computer and mixing console to eliminate hum and/or computer

noise in the audio signal. Most helpful in single destination stereo use.
