2 General safety instructions
The Palax Lifter is an accessory for the Palax KS35, Power 90 and Power 70 firewood
processors. The maximum diameter of logs to be hoisted with the lifter is 37 cm and their
maximum length is 3.5 m. (Note: Check the maximum log diameter allowed for the
firewood processor used.) When lifting the log, ensure that it remains on the lifter
throughout the procedure, and that it cannot roll or tumble down from the lift booms due
to imbalance.
The user must familiarise himself with the device and the firewood processor used before
starting the operation. He must understand how the device operates and be aware of the
risks associated with its use. All safety instructions for the firewood processor also apply
to the Palax Lifter.
The lifter must always be used exercising great caution, so that neither the user of the
device nor people near it are subjected to injury.
The device must not be used by children!
The lifter may be used for lifting only one log at a time, and this log must be placed onto
the lift booms in such a way that its butt end points towards the firewood processor.
Lifting is not allowed, if the log is only supported by one of the lift booms. The logs to be
lifted must be free of branches, straight and must not fork.
Other people or objects that could be damaged by the device are not allowed near the
lifter during its operation. The danger zone around the machine is 10 m.
The lifter shall be used on an even surface. When setting the log, the lift booms must be
fully lowered. No logs or other objects are allowed under the lift booms during lowering.
Rolling the log onto the lift booms must be carried out gently enough to ensure that the
operator of the lifter will not be subjected to any danger or injury. Beware of logs that
may roll down from the pile.
