Ford Key on the Dash
Below you will see a diagram to a common Ford dash mounted ignition switch.
This switch was used on many cars and trucks throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s. It is
easily identified by a thread post that comes out of the center; position C in the drawing
below.
Pin D will provide a ground source to warning/“idiot” lights when the ignition
switch is in the ON position and the vehicle is not running. This will give the driver a
visual indication that all warning lights have functioning bulbs. Connections for this pin
are not supplied in this harness but can easily be added by the installer.
