PACiS Gateway

7.1.3.1

Preparing Flash Media

To prepare flash media click on "Start/Schneider Electric/ Prepare Flash media"

Preparation is automatic.

For information, the following operations are executed: clean the flash disk and create two
primary partitions.

C: is reserved for XP Embedded operating system.

This partition will be protected by Enhanced Write Filter (EWF) to avoid writing on flash disk.

D: is reserved for PACiS GTW software.

7.1.3.2

Copying XP Embedded files

To copy XP Embedded files on flash media click on "Start/Schneider Electric/Copy
XPEmbedded files"

Those XP Embedded files concerns only PC ARK 3382 from Advantech.

Restart the PC.

7.1.4

First start of the PC

You can now restart the PC by switching OFF/ON power supply.

A message "Fisrt boot Agent (FBA) is starting" will be displayed, followed by several
messages as:

Installing

Catalogs

•

Installing System security

•

Registering component

•

Registering class installer

•

Installing PNP Devices

•

Installing

Workstation

•

Installing

Network

•

…

•

Registering components

•

Processing run once items

This can take a few minutes.

PC will then restart automatically and run under XP Embedded.
