Replacing a Disk Drive

Note  

Prior to using this procedure, verify that the seal label located on the bottom 

front of the unit reads, “Please read HDD FRU documentation before opening”. If 
this statement does not appear on the label, the disk drives in this unit are not 
replaceable and the unit must be returned to the manufacturer for service. 
The disk drive LED is located on the bezel, as illustrated below: 

If a disk drive fails, the status light glows amber. 

Determine which Drive has Failed

Use the GuardianOS Admin tool to determine which drive has failed. Navigate to 

Storage > Disks/Units

 to view disk status. In the screen below, Disk 1 has failed or is 

offline.

Disk Drive LED

Disk Drive LED 

Off

Drive is not present.

Blinking green

Disk drive installed properly and is active

Solid amber

Disk drive installed, but not working correctly
