Example 1: After opening the hand, the patient slowly relaxes his muscle. The hand closes slowly, analo-
gous to the duration of the muscle relaxation. The hand will grasp gently at 10 N and there is
no other Auto-Grasp function.
Example 2: After opening the hand, the patient relaxes the muscle at maximum speed. The hand closes at
maximum speed and begins to grasp an object with 10 N grip force. If the sensor recognises
that the object is slipping, it automatically increases the grip force up to the maximum (130 N),
as necessary.

Control with one linear transducer
Opening:
Proportional. The speed and strength of the pull on the linear transducer determine the opening
speed of the hand.
Closing:
Proportional. The speed of the release of the linear transducer determines the closing speed.
This also affects the level of the maximal grip force.
Stopping:
By
very slow release of the linear transducer, the hand stops in an opened position.
