Consult a physician if any exceptional changes are noted (such as worsening of the com
plaint).
5.1 Selecting the Size
1. Measure the circumference of the knee joint (circumference A).
2. Measure the circumference of the thigh (circumference B)
15 cm
above the center of the
patella.
3. Determine the size of the brace (see size chart).
5.2 Fitting and Application
5.2.1 Adjusting the Range of Motion (Flexion/Extension)
INFORMATION
The joint stops (medial and lateral) must have identical degree settings.
Available extension stops (square grip):
0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°
Available flexion stops (round grip):
0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°
1) Remove the pad retainer (and the spacer rings if applicable) (see fig. 4).
2) Insert the desired extension and flexion stops into the joint (see fig. 5).
→
The stops will engage with slight resistance.
3)
Optional:
Snap the required number of spacer rings onto the joint (see the section "Adapta
tion to the knee width").
4) Attach the pad retainer.
5.2.2 Adaptation to the Knee Width
The scope of delivery includes spacer rings (thickness =
5 mm
).
This adjustment can be carried out independently on the medial and lateral joints.
1) Loosen the pad retainer from the joint.
2) Snap the required number of spacer rings onto the joint (see fig. 6).
3) Attach the pad retainer on the spacer rings.
5.2.3 Adjusting the strap height
The height of the front/rear top strap for the lower leg can be adjusted for knee joint relief in case
of post-operative therapy and/or to adapt the position of the straps to the anatomical shape of the
leg.
1) Remove the clip rivet from the front/rear, top strap for the lower leg.
2) Move the strap.
3) Attach the strap with a new clip rivet.
5.2.4 Applying the ACL Version
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to improper or exces
sively tight application
►
Ensure that the brace is applied properly and fits correctly.
