Follow the instructions regarding the length of the screws and about how to secure the
screws.
5.1 Adjusting the vacuum pump
Vacuum generation and damping of the vacuum pump can be adjusted using the elastomer rod.
Plantar flexion and dorsiflexion as well as pronation and supination can be adjusted via the pyram
id receiver.
When a socket adapter with rotatable pyramid receiver is installed, this can be used for rotation.

Required materials:
Allen wrench 4 mm
1) Disassemble existing distal prosthetic components.
2) Screw in the adjustment screw in the distal end of the vacuum pump fully to the stop (see
fig. 3).
3) Loosen the adjustment screw as described in the adjustment table below.
4)
Optional:
Fully unscrew the adjustment screw to replace the elastomer rod (see fig. 4).
Unscrew the set screws of the pyramid receiver sufficiently in order to do so. After inserting a
new elastomer rod, complete the adjustment procedure again.
5) Install the distal prosthetic components as described in the respective instructions for use.

The optimal setting depends on the user's level of activity and requests.
Loosen the adjustment screw of
the elastomer rod by a maximum of four (4) turns.
5.2 Installing the vacuum pump
Countersunk head screws that must be used for installing a socket adapter are included with the
vacuum pump. The countersunk head screws are chosen according to the socket adapter.

Required materials:
torque wrench (e.g. 710D20), 636K13 Loctite 241
1) Select the countersunk head screws that are compatible with the socket adapter (see selec
tion table).
2)
INFORMATION: If the pyramid receiver or the pyramid is rotatable: Place the pressure
plate on the adapter.
Position the socket adapter.
3) Secure the screws with Loctite.
4) Tighten the posterior screws first (
12 Nm
), then tighten the anterior screws (
12 Nm
).
5) Install the other prosthetic components as described in the respective instructions for use.
6) Carry out the static alignment of the prosthesis.
INFORMATION: The length of the vacuum hose can be determined once all prosthetic
components are correctly aligned.
