2.11 Power ON the Computer
The EB2200 expansion chassis will automatically turn ON when the computer is turned ON. A White light located on the front panel will shine
when the expansion chassis is ON. ExpressBox 2200 will automatically turn OFF when the computer is turned OFF.
The White light on the front of ExpressBox 2200 is not an On-Off power-push button; it is an light indicator that simply indicates whether the
chassis is ON or OFF
.
2.12 Hardware Check – Verify Connection
Once you have installed the Interface cards correctly and both computer and expansion are running, the next thing to do is to check the LED
Link up status. Verify the following LEDs on the Expansion and Host interface cards. Host Card and Expansion card with proper link established
should show up with FIVE solid green LEDs.
1. You should see the following LEDs are illuminated:
a. Five green LEDs on the Expansion card
b. Four green LEDs on the backplane
c. Five green LEDs on the HOST card
The normal LED indicator on the expansion card should display five solid green LEDs. This signifies that the expansion unit is training to x8. If
you are seeing four solid green LEDs (illuminated) and one amber solid, this is OK. This signifies that it is training to x4 or it is not utilizing its full
x8 bandwidth.
The Backplane power LED indicator should display four solid green LEDs. If it is only displaying two LEDs, it is an indication that the expansion
unit is on standby mode (unit is not powered UP).
