Disconnect Cables From the Server

Caution -

The system supplies standby power to the circuit boards even when the system is

powered off.

Label all cables connected to the server.

Disconnect the following cables as appropriate:

■

PCI or XAUI cards

■

Alarm board

■

TTYA serial port

■

Serial management port

■

Network management port

■

USB ports

■

Ethernet ports

■

Power supplies

If you are going to remove the CMA, also remove the cables from it.

Remove the server from the rack.

Remove the Server From the Rack

Remove the server from the rack prior to performing cold-swappable FRU replacement

procedures except the FB-DIMMs, PCI cards, and the service processor.
