Description of the converter
The converter is an universal device designed for process monitoring and con-
trol of an optek-sensor assembly.

156 converter
The converter determines the change of light intensity by means of photocurrent
transmitted by the sensor. After taking the logarithm, a measurement signal
proportional to the concentration in the process medium is obtained. The 156
provides four defined and one variable measuring range to be adjusted to your
specific process parameters. The LED indicator indicates the percentage of the
selected measuring range. For connection to the process control system, the
156 converter is equipped with two independent setpoints and a
4 - 20 mA-output for alarms and real-time process monitoring. An additional
relay output (failsafe) gives alarm in case of lamp or power failure. Basic system
calibration is carried out in concentration units (CU).
The converter complies with the highest security standards. The device com-
plies with the requirements of the EMC Directive in accordance with CE.
