Perfect Pick® Cortex™ Operator Manual

OPEX Corporation

Incoming and outgoing conveyor zones

- In the example shown in Figure 3-10,

these sections of the conveyor contain zones 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25.
Zone 25 is the entry to our system from the warehouse conveyor system. Zone
14 is the exit from our system back out to the warehouse conveyor system.

This may vary depending on your system setup. There may be more outgoing
zones and/or less workstation area zones, which then shifts conveyor zones,
etc. The numbering principle still applies in general, but Zone 25, for example,
may not always be the “induction” zone.

3.6.1. Zone sensors

These are sensors which are mounted on the walls of the conveyor system and
are in the middle of each zone. These sensors are used to communicate when
a specific container is at the necessary zone. These sensors only know they
should either be blocked or unblocked - they do not carry the information of the
barcode for container identification.
