Introduction:
The OnQ KSU/PBX Door Intercom allows a person at the door to communicate with someone at any
other phone location in the house.
2.
Description:
The OnQ KSU/PBX Door Intercom, see Figure 1 below, contains a loudspeaker, microphone and
pushbutton, which is used to signal the other phones in the house that someone is at the door. An LED is

3. Operation:
When someone at the door pushes and releases the button on the faceplate, the OnQ KSU/PBX Door
Intercom system rings all on-hook extension phones with the Intercom cadence, two short (.5 second)
rings followed by a 3 second pause. If no one answers, this cadence repeats a total of five times, and the
call is terminated. When someone does answer, the person at the door communicates speakerphone
style, by just talking into the microphone and listening to the loudspeaker.
4. Installation:
The OnQ KSU/PBX Door Intercom mounts in a 1-gang box as indicated in Figure 2 above. The unit is
shipped with the faceplate connected to a backing plate with two screws and nuts. These may be
discarded and replaced upon installation by the color matched mounting screws, which are provided.
