You can confirm the EtherCAT communication status using TwinCAT.

Specify the Box to connect, and 
then select the [Online] tab.

If there is not problems of the 
EtherCAT communications, the 
display of [Current State:] 
[Requested State:] will be "OP". 
Mode display at the bottom right of 
the screen will change to
