SECTION 3
Connection to the Host
Connecting through the Parallel I/O
This section explains how to connect inputs and outputs to the V530-R160 through its parallel I/O to input
signals such as reading triggers, or output signals such as reading judgements (OK/NG).
Either the “I/O terminals” or “I/O connector” can be used for the parallel I/O. The I/O terminals and I/O
connector cannot be used simultaneously.
When the required control signals are being connected to the I/O terminals, attach the control wires to
the included connector (Phoenix MC1.5/10-STF-3.5) and then insert the connector into the V530-R160.
When you want to use the parallel I/O to output reading judgements by inputting a trigger, prepare a
parallel I/O cable (order separately) and connect it to the I/O connector.
For details on how to set the communication specifications and the I/O format, see
SECTION 8
Communications with the Host.
I/O Terminal Connections
Connecting Method
Wire the cable carrying the control signals to the connector that was included with the V530-
R160 and insert the connector into the V530-R160. The following diagram shows the I/O alloca-
tion of the V530-R160's I/O terminals. Just wire the terminals that are needed.
Do not use RESET input immediately after the power is turned ON. When using RESET input to
synchronize execution timing, wait at least 1 second after turning ON the V530-R160 power supply
before turning ON the RESET terminal.
Use DC power supplies with safe extra low-voltage circuits for COMING in order to prevent high
voltages. If UL recognition is required, use a UL class II power supply.
Recommended Wire Size
0.14 to 1.5 mm

(The maximum cable length is 30 m.)
