INSTALLATION
Please note:
when using the speaker-system in public or industrial areas, a series of safety instructions
have to be followed that this manual can only give in part. The operator must therefore inform himself on the
current safety instructions and consider them.
Rack installation
This amplifier is built for 19" racks (483 mm). This rack should be a Double-Door-Rack where the front panel
and the rear panel can be opened. The rack should be provided with a cooling fan. When mounting the
amplifier into the rack, please make sure that there is enough space around the device so that the heated air
can be passed on. Steady overheating will damage your device.
You can fix the amplifier with four screws M6 in the rack.
Be careful when mounting the amplifier into the rack. Put the heaviest devices into the lower part of the rack.
Be aware that fastening the amplifier with four screws on the front panel is not enough. In order to ensure
safety, additional fastening by using ground and side bars is necessary.
If racks are to be transported or used for mobile use, additionally fasten the devices by connecting the rear
brackets with the side or ground bars of the rack. In this way, the amplifier cannot be pushed backwards.
The front panel alone is not designed to absorb acceleration forces occuring during transportation.
Speakers
Please note:
cabling a PA-system is an electric installation which must only be carried out by a qualified
electrician.
DANGER TO LIFE!
The electric connection must only be carried out by a qualified electrician!
PA speakers or 4/8 speakers or speaker groups with a total impedance of at least 4 can be connected.
Attention:
Consider the polarity of the speakers when installing your system. "Positive" and "negative"
terminals on the amplifier must be connected to the corresponding "positive" and "negative" terminals on the
speakers.
PA speakers
Connect the speakers in groups for each zone to the “+100V
“
and “–NEG“ terminal. Make sure the
corresp4 Ohm/+100V switch is pressed.
4/8 speakers or speaker groups with a total impedance of at least 4
Connect the speakers in groups for each zone to the “+4
“
and “–NEG“ terminal. Pay attention to setting of
the +4 Ohm/+100V switch.
Choosing appropriate connection cables
The speaker-system must only be connected via a sufficiently dimensioned cable. Too thin cables lead to
cable heatup or enormous power loss and loss in sound-quality.
For all speaker-systems up to 400 Watts, we recommend a cable diameter of 2.5 mm², for all other speaker-
cables 4 mm².
